Job Description: The eCommerce Sales and Marketing Specialist will function as a product authority and sales/merchandising/marketing representative on the eCommerce team. The function of this role is to understand the products (features, functions, technologies, etc.), determine the best channel (eBay, Amazon, website, etc.) and price point, merchandise the product by creating the listings, sell products to the intended target customer, and analyze results, making changes as necessary.
The eCommerce Sales and Marketing Specialist will use customer insights and eCommerce technologies to ensure the product is discoverable, considerable and available for purchase on the website through traditional online distribution channels and social networks such as facebook, linkedin, and twitter.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Mine product reviews and customer generated content to determine what product features and language to use in product descriptions, search meta data and comparison tool criteria.
• Create new navigational paths beyond standard categories by mining research records and user generated content.
• Forge new ways for customers to discover product that can be automated on the back end, like best sellers, top rated, or new additions sections that are continually updated based on business rules, not manual merchant population.
• Anaylize data and make changes/recommnedations based on results
• Take the lead on various projects including but not limited to: new sales strategies, development of additional channels, and reporting methodogolies.
• Establish authentic business relationships with social networking sites such as facebook, linkedin, twitter and tangle to actually engage with potential customers.
• Determine automated solutions to cross selling and up-selling based on product atrtibutes and purchase history
• Dive deep into the way that people shop for key product categories online.
• Determine the visual product presentation needs at the category and product level.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Encourage alternative browse paths by placing products in multiple categories.
• Guide navigation with user-definable browse paths and navigation attributes.
• Schedule pricing and discount events for sales and promotions.
• Assist with documentation of eCommerce processes and procedures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Must have exceptional web-design, software, and web navigation skills.
• Some knowledge of HTML preferred.
• Must have strong excel and data analytics skills.
• Must have experience with virtual product merchandising.
• Must have experience using eBay or Amazon to sell products within a business environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Some college coursework completed is required
• A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience
